What is included in the Annual Refresher Course?
As you are already qualified, you should not be learning new things, but refreshing your existing understanding and knowledge. This will include reminding you about the basics of assessing the scene of an emergency, administering first aid to a casualty and dealing with an unconscious patient. We will make sure that your CPR is of a high standard, and check that you are able to put someone in the recovery position. On top of this, we will go over the control of wounds and bleeding, how to treat a casualty for shock, what should be in a first aid kit and the hygiene surrounding it, and we will cover HSE reporting. This is also a great opportunity to ask questions of qualified professionals if there is anything that you are uncertain of, or would like clarified. We are here to make sure that you are confident in your knowledge.
